At the world’s leading trade show for imaging, the leading camera manufacturer will introduce five new products at once, among them the first GigE Vision camera with a 240 MB/sec data rate.

At this year’s Vision show from November 3 to 5, 2009 in Stuttgart, Allied Vision Technologies will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of its founding with an explosion of new products.

Prosilica GX : fastest GigE Vision camera in the world
The highlight and technological breaktrhough in GigE cameras is the new Prosilica GX camera family from Allied Vision Technologies. This innovative GigE Vision camera shatters earlier speed records with a maximum data rate of up to 240 MB/sec – more than double the average GigE Vision speed of 100 MB/sec. This speed record is made possible by the clever application of so-called Link Aggregation Group Technology (LAG): the camera is equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet connections so that the available bandwidth for image data transmission is doubled. In this manner, high-resolution images can be transferred from the camera to the PC at heretofore unthinkable speeds.

Manta : riding out the recession on a GigE camera
At the other end of the AVT product spectrum, another GigE camera family will be celebrating its premiere in Stuttgart. The Manta is a simple, robust digital camera with a GigE Vision interface, providing a lot of quality for a little price. Available with the most common Sony sensors up to 2 megapixel resolution, it’s the perfect solution, especially in these tough economic times, for industrial users who are looking for proven AVT dependability without placing high demands on complex image preprocessing functions.

Stingray GE : Transformer camera now with GigE interface
The AVT Stingray, introduced at the Vision show two years ago, is now available with a GigE Vision interface in addition to the FireWire IEEE1394b interface. The Stingray’s modular construction accomodates a wide range of special configuration requirements simply and economically. During its market launch, the Stingray GE will be available in five resolutions from VGA to 5 megapixels. In the development of this model, all of AVT’s know-how was used to fully exploit the GigE Vision interface’s potential. The results are, among others, high image rates up to 120 fps in VGA resolution.

Turbo-Guppy : new Guppy Pro with IEEE1394b
Allied Vision Technologies will also introduce interesting new FIreWire products. The Guppy camera family is expanding to include new models with fast IEEE1394b interfaces. With their extremely compact housing dimensions (29x29x29 mm), the Guppy Pro is likely the smallest 1394b camera in the world. Also equipped with sensors ranging from VGA up to 5 megapixels, it provides faster data transfer for applications in tight places for a very attractive price-to-performance ratio.

New 11 und 16 megapixel Pike
The Pike camera line, the AVT flagship in the FireWire area, is also expanding with two new high-resolution models. The Pike F-1100 and F-1600 are equipped with highly sensitive 11 or 16 megapixel Kodak sensors. Due to the sensors’ size, these two new Pike models have a special housing, but retain the Pike family’s IEEE1394b-interface and comprehensive image optimization functions (AVT Smart Features) for outstanding image quality.
